Grandfather, Prof. h.c. Franz Schleiss (1884 - 1968) was the founder of the "Modern Gmundner Keramik", father, Ing. Peter Schleiss (1929-1979) worked as a ceramic engineer among others at the "Wienerberger AG", mother Kreszentia (1925 - 2009) was a housekeeper at Helene Thimig-Reinhardt in Vienna and Salzburg.
Christian Schleiss grew up in Vienna and Gmunden, studied piano IGP and concert maturity in Linz and pedagogy in Salzburg (Mag. Phil). Schleiss is an interpreter of piano works by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Ravel and Rachmaninov. He is also a composer of pieces for piano solo and flute solo. As a photographer, Schleiss deals with the genres of nature, architecture, still life, street and lost places.
Christian Schleiss lives in the Upper Austrian town of Bad Goisern and runs a studio in Eibiswald in southwestern Styria.
